
Dr. Natoushka Trenard MD, MPH

Dr. Natoushka Trenard is currently serving as Chief of the Pulmonary/Critical Care Medicine
Division at Metropolitan Hospital which she joined in 2019 as the Director of Critical Care
Services. She earned her medical degree from Howard University College of Medicine in 2008
and completed her residency training at Stony Brook University Medical Center in 2011. Dr.
Trenard completed her Pulmonary/Critical Care Fellowship at New York University in 2015 and
earned a Master’s Degree in Public Health at Columbia University in 2020. Following the
completion of her medical training, she worked at St. Barnabas Hospital in the Bronx for over
three years as a Pulmonary/Critical Care Attending during which time she became an Associate
Program Director for the Medicine Residency, Assistant Professor at CUNY School of Medicine,
and was honored with the Medicine Residency Teaching Award in 2018. She is currently an
Assistant Professor of New York Medical College. Her current clinical practice involves both
inpatient and outpatient care in the Medical Intensive Care Unit and Pulmonary Clinic, serving a
diverse patient population in East Harlem. Her research interests include improving lung cancer
screening utilization in vulnerable populations and has received a grant to investigate novel
approaches to improve screening in populations with known worse lung cancer outcomes. Dr.
Trenard is also passionate about having formal health equity education in resident training and
currently developing a Health Equity Curriculum for the medicine residency program. She serves
as the Site Director for the Westchester Pulmonary Critical Care Fellowship and is involved in
quality improvement initiatives and fellowship education. Her community work includes
participation in the NYC Speaks Health and Wellness Committee, a civic organization engaged
in providing feedback to NYC Mayor Eric Adams campaign on initiatives for the NYC
community. She maintains board certifications in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary and Critical
Care Medicine. She currently lives in Queens, New York and is a proud mother of three beautiful
children: Milana, Kirk Jr, and Yara.
